About Gregory Peri

I'm Gregory Peri, and I'm running to be your next Ward 5 Councillor because I believe local government should be grounded in both heart and expertise.
I've called King City home for over a decade. I went to King City Secondary School, and this community has shaped who I am. Now I want to give back to it directly, as your Councillor.
When I'm not at working or out in the community, I'm at home with my wife and our two daughters. Between sports practices, school events, and everything in between, I see firsthand what makes a community work, and where it can do better. I want Ward 5 to be a place where my daughters, and every child in our community, can grow up active, included, and proud to call King home. That's not just a campaign line for me. It's why I'm running.
For over 20 years, I've worked in municipal government, starting in community recreation and growing into a career dedicated to making municipalities work for the people who need them most.
As the Town of Aurora's Accessibility Advisor for the past 4+ years, I've led corporate-wide accessibility strategy, built partnerships with organizations like Holland Bloorview, ParaSport Ontario, and Autism Ontario, and worked hands-on to remove barriers so every resident can participate in their community.
That work isn't abstract to me. It's shown up in Emergency Management, in digital content that meets accessibility standards, in trick-or-treating that's barrier-free for every child. It's the kind of practical, on-the-ground problem-solving I want to bring to Ward 5.

For the past three years, I've also served on King Township's own Accessibility Advisory Committee. Getting to know this community's challenges and priorities directly, and using my experience to help our community to be more accessible and inclusive.
Ward 5 is facing real challenges: GO Train noise, growth pressures, and the need to make sure residents' voices are heard every step of the way. I'm running because I've spent my career doing exactly that work, and I'm ready to bring that same dedication home, to the community I know and love.
Ward 5 deserves both heart and expertise. I'd be honoured to earn your vote.
